Jazz at Marston House

10/12/2009

Coming up this Sunday 18th October... we'll be playing at Marston House from 2pm, a couple of sets of our usual mixture and a special one-off performance with Pee Wee Ellis.  All part of a Grand Tea Party and Charity Auction to raise funds for the Premature Baby Unit at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.  Tickets on the door I think!

Spring Cleaning - New recordings on the way

4/8/2009

An Easter treat for us, we're getting together at the weekend to rehearse and record a new selection of music for our website.  Look out for our brand new LISTEN page in the next couple of weeks.  Also we have a host of engagements in the next few weeks so we're rehearsing lots of new repertoire including arrangements of: The Promise by Tracy Chapman and The Raiders' March from Indiana Jones; alongside classic favourites: Elgar's Serenade for Strings and Chanson de Matin and Handel's Hornpipe from the Water Music.

The Maggio String Quartet at Wells Cathedral

4/4/2009

Look out for two Primavera regulars, Seona Chapman and Andrea Green, moonlighting with local quartet The Maggio in a free lunchtime concert at Wells Cathedral.  Tuesday 7th April, 12 noon, in the Lady Chapel.  The concert is part of the Music and Silence Series.  Programme includes: Borodin String Quartet No 2 and two traditional melodies, She Moves Through the Fair and The Day Dawn, arranged by Seona.  A MUST SEE!

Valentines & Spring in the Air

2/21/2009

We've been very busy recently with rehearsals, a spring clean of our sheet music cupboard and some great music-making principally with the good folk at Kingsdown Golf Club who hired us for their wonderful Valentine's dinner.  The quartet sounds great and we're in trim for a busy run of performances coming up.

New Year Wedding Fairs

12/30/2008

We're just warming up for our next big series of events: wedding fairs at the Ammerdown Centre and Orchardleigh.  Come and hear us play at Ammerdown on 4th Jan 12 - 4pm and at Orchardleigh on 25th Jan also from 12 - 4pm.  We'd love to see you, have a chat, cup of tea, etc!
